How sustainable are you? Try our new app to find out!
SustainableI® helps you understand your water and carbon footprint, making suggestions on how to how make more eco-friendly choices.
While often looking to corporations and organizations to assure a more sustainable future, we must not forget that as individuals and consumers we have a collective impact, as well. The app SustainableI® can help put yours and your family’s footprint into perspective.
“SustainableI is built to help you understand your carbon and water footprint, its complexity and where your biggest impact is,” explains Luca Crisciotti, CEO in DNV GL - Business Assurance. “The app asks you to answer questions on your consumption in 5 categories: eat, drink, wash, charge and travel. The app then provides your footprint score, and the more questions you answer the more complete your score will be. You can also see how you perform against the average of those using the app. If you accept any of the SustainableI challenges, they will help guide you in how to make changes that can positively impact your footprint.”
Does it matter?
You may think that you as an individual or family only have a minimal impact; however, every contribution matters in the bigger picture.
Luca Crisciotti explains, “Do you remember the saying ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away?’ A quick calculation shows that the total amount of water required to produce an apple a day for the 1900 working with me in DNV GL - Business Assurance is 86,687,500 liters. Sounds like a lot? In comparison, it takes 2,500,000 liters of water to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool. This is, of course, not to say that you should stop eating apples, but it shows how each and every one of us contributes to the bigger picture.”
